Gobblyn Grotto
Welcome to the official Gobblyn website! Here you will find all information available regarding the lore, guidelines, and biology of Gobblyns!

What are Gobblyns?
The Basics
Gobblyns are small, cave-dwelling creatures native to an alien planet in a distant star system. A small population was brought to earth for research and promptly escaped to become a minor pest and invasive species. Known for having a voracious appetite, Gobblyns will eat anything they can get ahold of, including: fruits, veggies, garbage, inorganic materials, and household pets.

Creation Guidelines
------
Gobblyns are a completely open species! And thanks to their regenerative abilities and tendency towards physical mimicry, the design and customization options for these little beasts are nearly endless!------
That being said, the requirements for your character to be a gobblyn are as follows:
-An eyeless, rounded head with large teeth. (Some individuals may have a short muzzle/snout.)-Thick and powerful forearms with large hands/claws/paws (no hooves).- Relatively short hindlegs with wide hips. (Hindfeet can be hooves, paws, or even fins!)- At least two ears, of any shape or size.- At least four (two on each side) respiratory holes. (These can be located anywhere on the body, but are typically on the neck or ribcage)- At least two facial antennae.- No taller than 5ft on their hindlegs
And that's it! Go wild!

Gobblyn Biology and Anatomy
Gobblyns have thick forearms and powerful claws, making them extremely adept climbers, but rather awkward on flat surfaces, often choosing to walk on their hind legs rather than all-fours.
Generally, gobblyns have a thin torso and short hindlegs with wide hips and small paws.
Their heads are round, eyeless, and possess an impressive set of powerful teeth, capable of slicing through even the most inedible of substances.
Despite being completely blind, Gobblyns are able to sense and navigate their environment via a variable number of sensitive facial antennae, in addition to an advanced form of echolocation.Gobblyns bodies' are regenerative and they are occasionally known to sprout extra tails, limbs and extremities. The reason for this is unknown.

How do they act?

Language and Behavior
While Gobblyns do not appear to possess any intelligent language translatable by humans, they are capable of mimicking sounds, including human speech. They do so with a basic level of understanding that is seems primarily association-based, though the true extent of their comprehension is unknown. They are also capable of learning to manipulate objects and use basic tools.Gobblyns are primarily solitary in nature, but will occasionally form small colonies, akin to those of feral cats. Some Gobblyns will develop strong bonds with one or two individuals (either of their own species, or another) and will choose to travel with and protect said individuals ferociously.
